Kuzmanović Dragoslav PhD

Dragoslav Kuzmanovic was born in Belgrade, Serbia, on July 4th, 1949. He graduated Mechanics at Faculty of Mathematics, University of Belgrade, where he received his Master’s degree. He defended his Ph. D. thesis in the same field  at the Faculty of Mining and Geology  in 1986.

In 1976, he was employed as a  junior teaching assistant at the Faculty of Mining and Geology (FMG). Since 1998  he is Professor of Mechanics and Strength of Materials. From 2001 he is Professor
at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering (TTE).


At the undergraduate level, he teaches courses in Mechanics 1 and Mechanics 2, and, at Ph.D. studies, Introduction to Chaos Theory at TTF.

He was a  lecturer of various courses on the Technical Faculty in Bor (1987-1988), Faculty of Mathematics (1993-1994), and on the FMG: Methods of Mathematical Physics and Spectral analysis, Fluid Dynamics and Theory of Elasticity with Rheology (postgraduate level).

Main research interest is in Continuum Mechanics.

During the course of his work, he managed and took part in realization of various scientific and expert projects.

He was the member of many Masters and PhD Dissertation committees at Faculty of Mining and Geology in Belgrade, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade and Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Kragujevac.

He is author of six textbooks, three monographies and over seventy published or presented papers.

He was the member of the Yugoslav Society of Mechanics board, Committee for Application of Mathematical Methods and Computers in Geology, Mining and Metallurgy and the Society for Structural Integrity and Life board and the member of IUTAM-a (International Union of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics) and ESIS-a (European Structural Integrity Society).
In the period between 2006 and 2009 he was Secretary General of the Serbian Society of Mechanics and now is the member of the Serbian Society of Mechanics board.
