2010

On September 7, 2010 the Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety hosted The Volcanic Ash Crisis 2010 - Seminar. The seminar covered effects of the 2010 volcanic eruption of Eyjafjallajokull in Iceland on air traffic from the perspective of airlines, air navigation service providers, aviation meteorologists, EUROCONTROL/CFMU (see the"Seminar Programme"). The seminar is intended for professionals from airlines, air navigation service providers, airports, civil aviation authorities, meteorological offices, international organizations, as well as for academic staff and students having an interest in aviation. The event was attended by more than hundred participants (see the list of participants) from sixteen countries, ranging from airlines, air navigation service providers, airports, civil aviation authorities, meteorological offices, international organizations, as well as research specialists and university lecturers and students.


2009

On 5-9 October 2009 the Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety hosted the Workshop in Fundamentals of Risk Analysis and Safety Assessment of Air Traffic Operations.The Workshop in Fundamentals of Risk Analysis and Safety Assessment of Air Traffic Operations was organized jointly by the Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety and Air Transport Safety Institute of National Airspace Laboratory (NLR-ATSI), Amsterdam, and supported by EUROCONTROL and by the Ministry of Science and Technological Development, Republic of Serbia. The Workshop took place on 5-9 October 2009 (please see the programme"Belgrade Safety Workshop" for detailed information). The Workshop was attended by more the 25 participants from 7 European countries.

On 7-10 September 2009 the Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety hosted the Summer School on Air Transport Economics and the Conference on ATM Economics.The Summer School on Air Transport Economics was organized jointly by the Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety, Berlin School of Economics and Law, and the German Aviation Research Society (GARS), and supported by EUROCONTROL and by the Ministry of Science and Technological Development, Republic of Serbia. The Summer School took place on 7-9 September 2009 (please see the programme "Belgrade Summer School Timetable" for more information). The Summer School was followed by the Conference on ATM Economics, jointly organized by GARS and UB-FTTE, which took place on 10 September 2009 (see the Conference programme for detailed information). The Conference gave researchers the opportunity to present innovative works on all the relevant aspects of the ATM economics. The Summer school and the Conference were attended by 54 participants from 12 countries (see the list of participants).

2007

On 5-6 November 2007, the seminar: "Airports, airlines, air traffic management (ATM) - operations economics and financing" took place at our Faculty. The course was organized jointly by: Berlin School of Economics and Divisions of Airline Operations and Air Transport Planning and Management & Airports and Air Traffic Safety. During the day and a half, four lectures were given: 
- Professor Boris Begovic from the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade, gave the lecture "Economics: Basics for Non-economists";
- Professor Juergen Mueller of Berlin School of Economics, and vice-president of the German Aviation Research Society (G.A.R.S), gave the lecture "What can we learn from economic tools for managing the air transport value chain";
- Dr Slobodan Mitric, former World Bank Expert, gave the lecture "Economic vs. Financial Appraisal of Large-Scale Transport Investments";
- Ms Danica Pavlovic from the FTTE gave the lecture "Airport Slots".

2006

The Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering, Department of Air Transport hosted the "2nd International Conference on Research in Air Transportation - ICRAT 2006", organised by EUROCONTROL Experimental Centre (Bretigny, France), and the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering, Department of Air Transport (Belgrade, Serbia), June 24-28, 2006. The Conference was sponsored by EUROCONTROL, The Ministry of Science and Environmental Protection of Republic of Serbia, European Commision, NASA (USA); as well as the Civil Aviation Directorate (CAD) of Serbia and Montenegro, and the Serbia and Montenegro Air Traffic Services Agency (SMATSA) Ltd. More than 120 people from 24 countries participated at the Conference. More information about the Conference could be found on the official ICRAT 2006 web-site.

2005

In May 30, 2005, Division is organizing in cooperation with University of Graz, the Aviation Safety seminar: "Safety Culture and Human Factor - ATM, Airlines and Research". Among the members and students of Division and Department of Air transport, participants were:

- Dr Sophie Dusire, Human Factor Expert, Eurocontrol CRDS, "ATM Safety Assessment - Which strategy to get from regulations to reality?".
