Within the Department of Traffic Engineering at the undergraduate studies according to NP 2000 the following subjects are studied:
- traffic control and management,
- intelligent transport systems,
- traffic design,
- quality management of road network and equipment,
- transportation planning,
- strategies and tactics in transportation planning,
- basics of transportation planning,
- traffic flow theory,
- evaluation ,
- evaluation in traffic and transport of the specific purpose projects,
- roads
Laboratory exercises in the following subjects:

- traffic design,
- transportation planning
Basic academic studies according to NP 2006 year ( Educational Programme 2006)
In 2006 work according to the new syllabuses and curricula was initiated for the first and second year study.
The syllabus and curriculum of the basic academic studies based on the credit system. The basic studies last VIII semesters (four years), each semester carries 30 credits distributed among subjects. The diploma paper in VIII semester carries 14 credits, laboratory work 6 credits, and it is necessary, out of the offered ones (all are optional) to choose two subjects, i.e. collect another 10 credits.
For taking an exam in the subjects from the core areas it is required that the student regularly attends the exercises and lectures, takes preliminary exams (colloquia), prepares homework, annual papers and potentially takes an oral exam. From the first towards the last study year the number of optional subjects increases. Foreseen laboratory work carries between 1 and 5 credits (depending on the semester). In V and VIII semester there is a possibility to choose a subject from other study programs with adequate number of credits.
