FAA Technical Exchange Session
On 24 July 2018 the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering, Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety, organised FAA Technical Exchange Session. The speaker was Almira Ramadani, manager at NextGen Operations Analysis, Federal Aviation Administration – FAA and also alumna UB-FTTE. The session brought together participants from Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia, SMATSA, Air Serbia, Sky Partner, Serbian Armed Forces, etc.

SESAR Innovation Days 2017.
On 28-30 November 2017 the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering, Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety, hosted the 7th SESAR Innovation Days, organised by SESAR JU. The conference brought together more than 210 participants from more than 20 countries, including established academics as well as younger researchers from the European aviation research community to foster new thinking and knowledge sharing.

On November 27, 2017 the Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety hosted AUTOPACE Dissemination Workshop, organized by AUTOPACE project consortium. Final results of AUTOPACE project are presented and possible direction for future work in area of Automation in ATM are discuss with more than 40 participants from 10 countries.

On 9-13 September 2013 the Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety hosted the Summer School on Air Transport Economics . The Summer School was organized jointly by Faculty of transport and Traffic Engineering, University of Belgrade (UB-FTTE) and the German Aviation Research Society (GARS), and supported by German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The Summer School included two specialized one-day workshops: scientific Workshop on aviation infrastructure economics (11 September) and the Workshop on Southeast Europe air transport issues (12 September), both jointly organized by UB-FTTE and GARS, with the support of DAAD. The Summer School and scientific Workshop on aviation infrastructure economics gathered more than 50 participants from 12 countries and the Workshop on Southeast Europe air transport issues attracted additional 40 participants (Southeast Europe) from the aviation industry ( list of participants).

 

 

On June 19-21, 2013, the Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety hosted thematic workshop on “ Automation of air traffic processes and air transportation systems”. The Workshop is jointly organized by University of Belgrade - Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering and Automation Control Laboratory, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, supported by Swiss National Science Foundation (under the program SCOPES 2009-2012).

On April 26-29, 2013, the Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety hosted 41st European SIMMOD User Group Meeting. Three Division members gave lectures on this occasion, with two more guest lectures given by practitioners:

On May 16, 2012 the Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety hosted the Spring Professional seminar for European students of technology "Together We Make Flying Safe". On that day, the Division offered lectures on the following topics: "Air Traffic Control and Management" (four hours) and "Air Navigation Safety" (four hours). The seminar is organized by the Belgrade branch of the European student organizations" BEST - Board of European Students of Technology" in cooperation with the Department of Air Transport and Traffic Engineering (Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering, University of Belgrade) and the Department of Aerospace Engineering (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade) and was held in Belgrade between 11 to 21 May, 2012. The event was attended by more than 30 participants from 14 countries and 19 universities.

On September 7, 2010 the Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety hosted the Volcanic Ash Crisis 2010 - Seminar . The seminar covered effects of the 2010 volcanic eruption of Eyjafjallajokull in Iceland on air traffic from the perspective of airlines, air navigation service providers, aviation meteorologists, EUROCONTROL/CFMU (see the "Seminar Programme"). The seminar was intended for professionals from airlines, air navigation service providers, airports, civil aviation authorities, meteorological offices, international organizations, as well as for academic staff and students having an interest in aviation. The event was attended by more than 100 participants (see the list of participants) from 16 countries, ranging from airlines, air navigation service providers, airports, civil aviation authorities, meteorological offices, international organizations, as well as research specialists and university lecturers and students.

On 5-9 October 2009 the Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety hosted the Workshop in Fundamentals of Risk Analysis and Safety Assessment of Air Traffic Operations . The Workshop was organized jointly by the Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety andAir Transport Safety Institute of National Airspace Laboratory (NLR-ATSI), Amsterdam, and supported by EUROCONTROL and by theMinistry of Science and Technological Development, Republic of Serbia. The Workshop took place on 5-9 October 2009 (please see the programme "Belgrade Safety Workshop" for detailed information). The Workshop was attended by more the 25 participants from seven European countries.

On 7-10 September 2009 the Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety hosted the Summer School on Air Transport Economics . The Summer School was organized jointly by the Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety, Berlin School of Economics and Law, and theGerman Aviation Research Society (GARS), and supported by EUROCONTROL and by the Ministry of Science and Technological Development, Republic of Serbia. The Summer School took place on 7-9 September 2009 (please see the programme "Belgrade Summer School Timetable" for more information). It was followed by the Conference on ATM Economics , jointly organized by GARS and UB-FTTE, which took place on 10 September 2009 (see the Conference programme for detailed information). The Conference gave researchers the opportunity to present innovative works on all the relevant aspects of the ATM economics. The Summer school and the Conference were attended by 54 participants from 12 countries (see the list of participants).

On 5-6 November 2007, the seminar: "Airports, airlines, air traffic management (ATM) - operations economics and financing" took place at our Faculty. The course was organized jointly by: Berlin School of Economics and Divisions of Airline Operations and Air Transport Planning and Management & Airports and Air Traffic Safety.

During the day and a half, four lectures were given:
- Professor Boris Begovic, Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade, gave the lecture "Economics: Basics for Non-economists";
- Professor Juergen Mueller, Berlin School of Economics, and vice-president of the German Aviation Research Society (G.A.R.S), gave the lecture "What can we learn from economic tools for managing the air transport value chain";
- Dr Slobodan Mitric, former World Bank Expert, gave the lecture "Economic vs. Financial Appraisal of Large-Scale Transport Investments";
- Ms Danica Pavlovic, UB-FTTE, gave the lecture "Airport Slots".

The Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering, Department of Air Transport hosted the "2nd International Conference on Research in Air Transportation - ICRAT 2006", organised by EUROCONTROL Experimental Centre (Bretigny, France), and the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering, Department of Air Transport (Belgrade, Serbia), June 24-28, 2006. The Conference was sponsored by EUROCONTROL, The Ministry of Science and Environmental Protection of Republic of Serbia, European Commission, NASA (USA); as well as the Civil Aviation Directorate (CAD) of Serbia and Montenegro, and the Serbia and Montenegro Air Traffic Services Agency (SMATSA) Ltd. More than 120 people from 24 countries participated at the Conference.

On May 30, 2005, the Division organised, in cooperation with University of Graz, the Aviation Safety seminar: "Safety Culture and Human Factor - ATM, Airlines and Research". The following external participants took active roles in the Seminar:
