Dr Bojana Mirković is associate professor at the Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety, Department of Air Transport, University of Belgrade –Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering (Serbia).

 

Educated at University of Belgrade, where she received her dipl.ing., M.S. (Magister) and PhD, all in Air Transport and Traffic Engineering. PhD thesis Airport Airside Balanced Capacity Usage and Planning she defended in 2014.

 

During seventeen years she has been involved in labs and lecturing (mainly Airports, but also Air Traffic Control, Air Navigation, Transportation Networks and Meteorology); and as a member of committee in over 90 undergraduate, graduate and PhD theses. She also takes part in education of air traffic controllers at SMATSA (Serbian Air Navigation Service Provider) training centre, as well as in education of air force pilots at University of defence – Military academy (program Military aviation – Pilots).

 

She has taken part in a number of research and consulting projects mainly concerning airports (capacity analyses, resource allocation, innovative design, etc.), but also ATM and aviation in general (clients: Munich Airport, Abu Dhabi Airports Company, TIBAH Consortium - Medina Airport, Daegu Gyongbuk Development Institute, Yooshin Engineering, EUROCONTROL, etc.; research grants: Ministry of Science and Technological Development, Republic of Serbia, Swiss National Science Foundation, SESAR Joint Undertaking, European Comission - COST Action, etc.).

 

She is co-author of twenty papers in highly rated scientific journals and conferences, two textbooks, one practicum and one authorized handouts in the field of airport planning, design, operations and management.

 

Additional professional experience she gained through internships at: Tenerife Sur, Munich Airport and Zurich Airport (all in Operations Planning departments), and a number of certified courses/seminars on aviation safety, air transport economics, human factors, resources allocation etc.

 

She is a licensed professional engineer and an active reviewer in highly rated scientific journals on transportation. She is appointed Main Member of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Standing Committee on Airspace and Airfield Performance (AV060). She was engaged as: external PhD examiner/committee member (University of Calgary, Canada and University of Zagreb, Croatia), reviewer of project documentation (Seoul Incheon and Gimhae airports), expert in working groups (Ministry of construction, transport and infrastructure, Republic of Serbia), etc.
