2009.

Workshop on Fundamentals of Risk Analysis and Safety Assessment of Air Traffic Operations

On 5-9 October 2009 the Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety hosted The Workshop on Fundamentals of Risk Analysis and Safety Assessment of Air Traffic Operations, with over 25 participants from 7 European countries present.
Summer School

Milica Kalić, Slavica Dozić and Danica Pavlović attended Summer School on Air Transport Economics on the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering in Belgrade organized by University of Belgrade, Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering, Berlin School of Economics and Law i the German Aviation Research Society (GARS).

American Pilots' Visit
On March 25, 2009 American cadets visited Air Transport Department. Prof. Milica Kalic gave a short presentation of the Department, and Danica Pavlovic presented ASO software which is developed at the Division.

University of Zilina, Slovakia

Between March 12 and 14, 2009, prof. Milica Kalic and Slavica Dozic, MSc, have, together with prof. Vojin Tosic, prof. Obrad Babic, Fedja Netjasov, MSc and Radosav Jovanovic, MSc, from Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety, visited University of Zilina in Slovakia, where they have given invited lectures with following topics:

2008.

Airport Tivat, Montenegro

On June 27, 2008 prof. Milica Kalic visited Airport Tivat where she met Ranko Boskovic, general director and Predrag Celanovic, deputy director.

University of Zilina, Slovakia

On February 21, 2008 professors from the University of Zilina, Department of Air Transport, dr Antonin Kazda, dr Benedikt Badanik and dr Andrej Novak visited the Department and considered cooperation of the two Faculties.

Professional Student Excursion

Professional excursion for students of senior year of Department was organised between April 16 and 22, 2008. This excursion comprised visits to Budapest Airport, Vienna Airport, Munich Airport and EUROCONTROL Centre for Research, Development and Simulation (CRDS) in Budapest. Prof. Milica Kalic lead the excursion, and Slavica Dozic, assistant at the Division and Andrija Vidosavljevic, PhD student at the Faculty and Research Assistant (consulting) at the Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety, had also participated.

2007.

The Flight Academy of Greece Visit

On June 26, 2007 the students from The Flight Academy of Greece visited the Department. After the welcome address by Head of the Department, prof. dr Vojin Tosic, following lectures were given:

  • Prof. dr Milica Kalic – About the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering and Air Transport Department
  • Tatjana Krstic Simic, MSc, Teaching and Research Assistant – Fast Time simulation for Serbia and Montenegro Airspace
  • Slavica Dozic, Junior Teaching and Research Assistant – Airline Schedule Optimization
  • Bojana Mirkovic, Junior Teaching and Research Assistant – Capacity Evaluation of Apron Taxiline Circle vs. Standard Apron Crossing
  • Fedja Netjasov, MSc, Teaching and Research Assistant – RESET – Reduced Separation Minima
  • After those presentations, The Division of Aircraft presented Flight Simulation Lab.

Military Academy

The Air Transport Department is starting, together with the Air Force Academy, a joint 4-year Undergraduate programme “Air Force Pilot-Air Transport Engineer” and prof.. Milica Kalic is leader of this programme.

Master of Civil Aviation (MCA) programme

The Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety and Division of Transport Planning and Airline Operational Management initiated and is coordinating a one-year Master of Civil Aviation (MCA) programme (www.mastercivilaviation.org) together with the Operations Research Laboratory, Department of Electrotechnics, Electronics and Informatics, University of Trieste, in cooperation with the Division of Work, Organisational and Environmental Psychology, Department of Psychology, University of Graz, and supported by the Centre for Research, Development and Simulation, EUROCONTROL, Budapest (CRDS).

2006.

ICRAT 2006

The Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering, Department of Air Transport hosted the “2nd International Conference on Research in Air Transportation - ICRAT 2006”, organized by EUROCONTROL Experimental Centre (Bretigny, France), and the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering, Department of Air Transport (Belgrade, Serbia), June 24 – 28, 2006. The Conference was sponsored by EUROCONTROL, The Ministry of Science and Environmental Protection of Republic of Serbia, European Commission, NASA (USA); as well as the Civil Aviation Directorate (CAD) of Serbia and Montenegro, and the Serbia and Montenegro Air Traffic Services Agency (SMATSA) Ltd. More than 120 people from 24 countries participated at the Conference. More information about the Conference could be found on the official web-site ICRAT 2006.

Austrian Airlines

Between March 28 and 30, 2006 prof. Milica Kalic and Danica Pavlovic have, together with prof. Vojin Tosic and prof. Obrad Babic, from Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety, and Zlatko Jegdic, Director General of SAGA, visited Operational Center of Austrian Airlines. During the visit prof. Kalic, prof. Babic and Danica Pavlovic have given presentation on “Daily Operational Flight Schedule Design - Decision Support Tool”.

2005.

University of Trieste

Between October 26 and 29, 2005, prof. Milica Kalic has, together with prof. Vojin Tosic and prof. Obrad Babic, from Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety, visited University of Trieste.
Within the Postgraduate Studies Course Prof. Kalic has given 4 hours of lecture on “Airline Operations: Network and Schedule Design”, and prof. Babic gave 6 hours of lecture on “Air Cargo Transport” and “Air Traffic Management”.
During this visit, a meeting related to cooperation and organisation of joint master degree studies has been held. Dr Walter Ukowich and Dr Lorenzo Castelli from University of Trieste, and Dr Natascha Kuenstner and Michaela Heese MSc., from University of Graz attended this meeting.

Austrian Airlines

Between August 30 and September 02, 2005 prof. Milica Kalic had few meetings and visited several departments in Austrian Airlines, such as: “Network Scheduling”, “Network Development”, “Hub Control Centre (Park Office)”, as well as “Headquarters AUA” in Oberlaa.
On August 29, 2005 prof. Milica Kalic has, together with prof. Vojin Tosic and prof. Obrad Babic, from Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety, visited Operational Center of Austrian Airlines. During the visit a presentation of: “Airline Schedule Optimization” project (made for JAT Airways) was given.
Danica Pavlovic spent two months (August and September 2005) in Vienna as an Internship in Austrian Airlines at the Quality Management Department. The Internship was organised by Austrian Airlines and IAESTE (International Association for Exchange of Students for Technical Experience).

Adria Airways / University of Ljubljana

On June 14, 2005 prof. Milica Kalic has, together with prof. Vojin Tosic and prof. Obrad Babic, from Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety, visited Adria Airways and University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Mechanics. During the visit of University, prof. Obrad Babic gave lecture on “Free Flight Concept Distributed Air/Ground Traffic Management”.

University of Graz / FH Joanneum

On June 13, 2005 prof. Milica Kalic has, together with prof. Vojin Tosic and prof. Obrad Babic, from Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety, visited Karl-Franzes University in Graz - Department of Working, Organisational and Environmental Psychology (hosted by prof. dr Wolfgang Kallus); as well as University of Applied Sciences FH JOANNEUM, (hosted by prof. dr Hannes Fogt).

Professional Student Excursion

Professional excursion for students of senior year of Department was organised between April 03-13, 2005. This excursion comprised visits to Budapest Airport, Vienna Airport, Munich Airport, EUROCONTROL Centre for Research, Development and Simulation (CRDS) in Budapest, as well as Karl-Franzes University in Graz (Department of Working, Organisational and Environmental Psychology). Prof. Obrad Babic lead the excursion, and prof. Milica Kalic, lecturers Miodrag Ilic, Dr Aleksa Zejak and prof. Mirjana Cangalovic from Faculty of Organisational Sciences had also participated.

2003.

Westminster University, London

Since October 2003 Vera Jakimovska had been at the postgraduate studies at University of Westminster in London, on Transport Planning and Management Programme.

2002.

Eurocontrol CRDS

Three members of the Department: dr Milica Kalic, Igor Poltoracki and Fedja Netjasov, as well as student Olja Vujic participated at three-day course: “Project Scope Management”, May 8-10, 2002 organized by “Project Management Institute”, USA. The course was held at EUROCONTROL CRDS in Budapest.

INECO, Madrid

During July and August, 2002, two graduate students and junior assistants, Slavica Nedeljkovic and Vera Jakimovska, completed practical training in Madrid, organized by IAESTE (International Association for Exchange of Students for Technical Experience) and INECO (Ingenieria y Economia del Transporte).
Slavica Nedeljkovic was involved in project “Characteristics of Demand” on preparation of data for simulation of Airport Barajas apron capacity.
Vera Jakimovska was involved in project “Technical Support for Preparation of a Methodology for Supervision of Airport Master Plans” on analysis of air traffic demand forecast models that were used for production of master plans for the Spanish airports.

2001.

Professional Trip of Professors and Assistants to France

In September 2001, Milica Kalic, Goran Pavkovic, Brankica Pesic and other professors and assistants of Air Transport Department visited ENAC (Ecole Nationale d’Aviation Civile) and CENA (Centre d’Etudes de la Navigation Aerienne) in Toulouse, at the invitation of Dr Daniel Delahaye.
The visit extended to Airbus Final Assembly Factory in Toulouse.
The same group visited Eurocontrol Experimental Center in Bretigny (Paris).

2000.

University of California

Since September 2000 Tatjana Bolic is on Postgraduate studies at the University of California at Berkeley (USA). She also works as Assistant at the NEXTOR (National Center of Excellence for Aviation Operations Research).

Tetraplan, Denmark

Goran Pavkovic spent three months with the Tetraplan, consulting company in Copenhagen (Denmark) participating in transportation planning projects.

1999.

Helsinki University

In August 1999 Milica Kalic visited Helsinki University of Technology (HUT) in Finland and offered "Predicting Air Transportation Passenger Flows using Soft Computing" seminar.

1998.

Technical University of Denmark

In April and May 1998 Milica Kalic had research fellowship at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) at Lyngby at the Institute for Planning, studying the problem of modal split on the Danish transport network using soft computing. She offered "Predicting Air Transportation Passenger Flows using Soft Computing" seminar in DTU. Milica Kalic visited the Tetraplan consulting company in Copenhagen and offered the above mentioned seminar.

University of California

In February 1998 Milica Kalic visited the Institute of Transportation Studies (ITS), University of California at Berkeley (USA) and offered the "Predicting Air Transportation Passenger Flows using Soft Computing" seminar.

1995.

International Summer School

Milica Kalic and Goran Pavkovic attended the "Intelligent Technologies and Soft Computing" course (International Summer School) organized by Dortmund University (Germany), RWTH Aachen (Germany), Institute of Microtechnology Bucharest and Black Sea University (Romania). The International Summer School was held in Mangalia (Romania).
